Banaadiri Xamereey Somali Restaurant: Reviews & Ratings
Alright I don't really want to share this review because I don't really want other people to discover this place but that feels unfair to the owner. First off I walk in and the smell of incense of some kind hits me and I genuinely don't think I could survive dinning in here. I ask for a menu and a gentleman informs me he is the menu and lists of the type of meats I can choose from. Being a fan of authentic food I am immediately excited and nervous so I put it to faith and ask for one beef one lamb. This apparently suffices as an order and I am sat down with a bowl of mystery soup to tide me over while I wait. All told the food was amazing and very reasonably priced and you absolutely should go here just don't tell your friends about it, and if you can't handle the incense take your food to go like I did!
This place is a GEM Unfortunately it has since closed. Hope they moved somewhere else.
It's a great meal. I'm not going to lie: it isn't pleasant inside. It's quite rundown. You come here for a great meal and a very reasonable price. So eyes wide open. I had lunch with a Somali buddy here and he recommended this place. I hadn't been here in years - used to come often when I worked near NAIT. so tasty...
The best Chicken Suqaar you will ever have in edmonton, if you have never had Somalian food you will not be disappointed in this place... the staff are humble and the food is very affordable, I discovered this place as a student 6 years ago and till date I go there for my lunch or dinner...
Best Somali food that I've tried in Edmonton but expect to be looked at weird and have to ask for your included soup and juice if you're not Somalian.
Loved the hospitality in the restaurant, food is very good and the owner was very nice, I even ordered food one time and he helped me carry my food I was taking home in the car!!
